Christ-like Leaders Are in Short Supply

The appeal of church continues to decline. More and more young adults are turning away. The next generation wants to have an impact. They want to engage with critical issues: climate change, racial tension, and the need for sabbath. However, traditional discipleship can fall short.

It's time for a different approach...

Immersive Spiritual Formation

Rather than continue outdated practices, Clapham Servants is engaging these young leaders to tackle important real-world issues in the way of Jesus. Through an intensive spiritual formation trip, followed by active engagement in the public square, these young leaders are multiplying. They are then educating the church on how to live their faith in everyday life.

This annual life-changing and transformative discipleship experience includes prework and postwork study, and a 5-day trip to Europe to see the impact of the faithful. This includes, but is not limited to: the work of John Stott, Patrick of Ireland, a visit to Reformation Wall in Geneva (Calvin, Farel, Knox, Beza), and special guests (e.g., Old Testament scholar, Chris Wright, and author, Mark Greene).

The Public Square

Public Square Forums allow this generation to engage in crucial conversations with others who may think differently. These are public gatherings in which all are welcome. The topics vary, and the young leaders learn to practice their faith respectfully and in a real-life setting. They also attend professional moderator training to learn how to facilitate productive discussions.

Church Engagement

The immersive discipleship experiences create multiple opportunities to engage the church. There are typically 5-6 per year, covering critical topics such as creation care, ethnicity and race, and sabbath rest. These sessions inspire others that they too can step outside the church and engage with others, who may not believe as they do, in a Christ-like way. This creates impactful conversations and trust.
