Os Guinness and Dr. Ken Barnes will be joining us Wednesday, January 11, 2017. There are three events that will be sure to encourage and inspire, and to help us all live more fruitfully.
Event One: Gospel Confidence In the Marketplace. How do we live out the gospel in our work, home, and social spaces? How do we live full of Jesus in all that we do and encounter? This is a talk for pastors, parishioners, and all interested in walking faithfully and fruitfully right where God has put you. Join us as Os Guinness and Dr. Ken Barnes help us find our way in today’s day and age!

Event Two: Faith and Country. Are your kids interested in the history of our country? Do they know what our founding fathers set in motion and what it takes to sustain a government by the people for the people – and how their faith directly relates to this? Join us for light snacks and a conversation with Os Guinness. This will be geared toward parents and teens who wish to discover how faith is vital to the health of our nation. Event Three: Exodus and the Human Quest for Freedom. This is the main event with Os Guinness. We’re so excited to have such an internationally recognized author, speaker, and scholar. Dr. Guinness will be sure to encourage, challenge and inspire you. Do not miss this event! Invite your family, friends, and associates as this will be a real treat.

About Os Guinness:
Dr. Os Guinness is an expert in faith, public policy, and international relations. His credentials include a freelance journalist for the BBC, guest scholar at the Brookings Institute and Woodrow Wilson Center for International Affairs, and primary drafter of “The Williamsburg Charter,” a bicentennial celebration of the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution. He has also held prestigious positions as the Executive Director of the Williamsburg Charter Foundation, and Senior Fellow for the Trinity Forum.
Dr. Guinness is a well known author of over 25 books, including his latest work, “The Global Public Square: Religious Freedom and the Making of a World Safe for Diversity,” which contemplates the question on a deep level about the divided and bitter controversies over religion’s place in public life, and asks the question, “How are we to live with our deepest religious and ideological differences?”
Dr. Os Guinness is the Great-Great Grandson of Arthur Guinness, the Dublin brewer, and was born to missionary parents in China during World War II where they were medical missionaries. He has traveled across Europe, and the United States, conducing lectures and speaking engagements on culture, faith and politics at a variety of universities, conferences and public venues throughout the world.
About Dr. Ken Barnes:
Director of the Mockler Center at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Prior to embarking on a career in the academy, Ken spent more than twenty-five years as a senior international executive for several multi-billion dollar companies doing business on six continents. Rev. Dr. Barnes is also an Ordained Minister who has served in the parish as well as various chaplaincy settings, including corporate and university chaplaincies.
Dr. Barnes holds a B.A. in Political Science and Theatre from the State University of New York, an M.A.T.S. from Gordon-Conwell, an M.Div. from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, M.Phil. from Kings College, University of London in Church History and Doctrine, and D.Min. from Reformed Theological Seminary in Chaplaincy and Apologetics.
Ken is married to Debby, a singer, songwriter and professional voice-over artist. They have three grown children: Bernadette, Christian and Julia. Ken and Debbie will move to Massachusetts from their home in Oxfordshire, England, during June, 2016.
